“ "It was lovely seeing students try different foods, and chat about what they had ordered from the menu. It was also brilliant seeing how keen they were to converse with the adults at their table" - Teacher “The overall experience listening to and asking the student’s about their experience and interests and future work and study goals was enjoyable and hopefully helpful to them in their future endeavors” (Ardoch volunteer)
Calling all superheroes-in-waiting! If you want to help children and young people reach their true potential, we want to hear from you.
How can you help us make a difference?
We are seeking inspiring role models from any career background to volunteer at our upcoming Learning Through Lunch events in Shepparton at GOTAFE.
With us you can gain:
• training and support to help you feel confident in your role • the opportunity to play an important part in a young person’s education journey
Who are we?
Ardoch is a national children’s education charity, working hard to improve educational outcomes for children and young people in communities experiencing disadvantage by providing vital learning and wellbeing resources and activities. What do we do? We train and mobilise volunteers to schools and early learning centres, with a focus on building strong foundations of education such as literacy and numeracy. We broaden horizons for children by providing access to excursions and inspiring learning experiences. Basically, we’re showing up for the kids who need our help the most.
This opportunity involves volunteering for 1 hour at one or more of our events. You will enjoy a dining experience with students from Grade 5 or 6. During the lunch you will: • Talk to them about your chosen field of work and what is required to enter the field. Students may like to hear what the day-to-day work-role entails. • Support students to try new foods and engage in table activities. Requirements: • Working With Children Check • Complete our two online training modules
