Individual drivers for transporting clients

DUTIES • Drive clients to their required destination in a safe and timely manner • Be responsible for the welfare, comfort and safety of service users from their homes to their destination and return • Promote safety by following organisational WHS requirements and guidelines • Communicate respectfully with all individuals including clients, representatives, staff and the community • Contribute to continuous improvement by involvement in volunteer meetings, planning days, and feedback mechanisms • Participate in education and training opportunities • Other duties as requested by the Volunteer Coordinator
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE • C class licence • If using your own vehicle, a fully comprehensively insured vehicle is required • A clean road worthy vehicle is necessary • A strong commitment to working with vulnerable people within the community • A good level of personal health and fitness • The ability to work as a reliable member of a team • A friendly, caring personality with an ability to relate to clients • Ability to read and understand maps and directions • First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
RESPONSIBLITIES & REQUIREMENTS • To undertake Mandatory training as applicable to role • To undertake regular medical and criminal background review checks-every three years or as required by guidelines and or legislation • To participate in an annual performance review • A zero tolerance policy exists for alcohol and illicit drugs for any driver. This is an essential requirement of the Roads & Maritime Services (RMS). Any medication that may affect driver capability should not be used, if in doubt check with your GP
ORGANISATION Northern Illawarra Neighbour Aid (NINA) is a Non for Profit community based organisation located in Helensburgh. NINA supports people to remain independent, active community members. Services clients from Helensburgh to Russell Vale.
