Providing transport to the Maidstone Campus in order for vulnerable young people to safely and regularly access education. Key result areas and responsibilities

The Volunteer Driver will:

• Pick up at 8.40 am in Yarraville and drop off at Maidstone Campus

• Pick up at 2pm at Maidstone Campus and drop off at Yarraville

(Please note, this role can be shared between several volunteers. A car will be provided).

• Be punctual, reliable and friendly

Key selection criteria

• The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships.

• Awareness of Melbourne’s local Western Region.

• An understanding or willingness to learn about child development and the issues that vulnerable children, young people and families face.

• Demonstrate behaviour consistent with MacKillop’s five values, Justice, Hope, Collaboration, Compassion, and Respect.

• A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.

The volunteer is required to:

• Sign and actively abide by MacKillop’s Code of Conduct.

• Attend mandatory and other training as required.

The volunteer must possess a:

• Valid and current Driver’s Licence.

• Valid and current Working with Children Card.

• Satisfactory criminal history check conducted by MacKillop Family Services.

• Carer Register Check conducted by MacKillop Family Services.

• Proof of vaccination against Covid-19.
