Pain Support Group Facilitator - North Melbourne

***This role is only open to those who have completed a Pain Management Program within the past two years.
Pain support group (PSG) facilitators helps the group to: ~ share their experiences of living with chronic pain, ~ educate the group about self-management techniques and ~ to effectively use healthcare settings.
Tasks will include:
- Prepare materials for group
- Email contact with group
- Deliver engaging talking points or guest speakers (as required)
- Hold meetings once a month
- Interact with group participants in the Closed Facebook Group and in Messenger
The PSG provides an avenue for people with pain to socialise with others and reduce the isolation of chronic pain. The group meets once a month for 1.5 to 2 hours.
We are recruiting volunteers for this role throughout the North Melbourne area. Although the group runs online, there may be opportunities in the future to meet up in person. This position is for a co-chair of an existing group.
PSG Volunteers will be supported through, PSG education material, PSG administrative forms, insurance coverage, certificate and reference (as appropriate).
