The HammondCare Volunteer program is a great way for you to make a meaningful difference to the life of an older person, right here in South West Sydney.

We are seeking a pet owner who would like to volunteer for social visits with female client in Liverpool. If you have a friendly four legged friend, can visit for one hour in your week and would like to improve an older persons day by providing companionship, we would be happy to hear from you.

As you're bringing your pet into a care environment with frail and elderly people, we ask that your pet is:

• Calm and gentle in nature
• Up-to-date with vaccinations and treatment of worms and fleas
• Nails should be short and blunt. Freshly cut nails can be sharp if not filed down.
• Dogs should be kept on a lead always.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the clients you are matched with.

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme is an Australian Government initiative established to promote links between elderly people and their local community.
