Community Visitor Volunteer - Chat with Alex or Vince - Armadale

People Who Care (Inc)
Logo for People Who Care (Inc)

Two male residents at an aged care facility in Armadale would enjoy a visit from a volunteer for a chat. One is from Manchester and one from Edinburgh, and both enjoy socialising, but unfortunately do not have regular visitors. A friendly visit from you could be the highlight of their week. If you enjoy chatting and you have an hour or two a week to spare, this could be a rewarding way of making a difference in your local community.

The Community Visitor Scheme is a Federal Government initiative established to promote links between people living in an aged care facility and their local community. The aim of the scheme is to improve residents' quality of life for those who have limited family, cultural and social contact and may be at risk of social isolation.

Volunteers will be required to undergo a police check, and have current Influenza and Covid 19 vaccinations, or be willing to get these. A mask and a negative Rapid Antigen Test is currently a requirement for entry to aged care facilities. RATs are provided on entry to the facility

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
