About the role

For older people, a lack of access to affordable, safe and age-friendly transport can lead to loneliness, isolation and poor quality of life.

At Southern Cross Care, we are addressing this need through our Care Car program, and are seeking volunteers who love to drive and love to help people.

Our Care Cars help people to visit their family, attend medical appointments and get out and about in their local community.

We provide modern, safe and fully-maintained vehicles and smart phones for easy navigation and communication with our support team.

We are looking for multiple volunteers to cover 4-hour shifts between Monday and Friday, 8am to 4pm.

This position would best suit those who love to work in a team, be around people, have clear communication skills, patience and empathy.

All volunteers require the following;

A current C class licence with a good driver history A current National Police Certificate for the Purpose of Aged Care, or be willing to obtain one (at no cost to you) Evidence you have received the 2023 Influenza Vaccination If you are looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity to help older people get out and about, enhancing their quality of life, we would love to hear from you.
