Community Visitor Volunteer - Glendalough

People Who Care (Inc)

Logo for People Who Care (Inc)

Community Visitors are volunteers who bring their skills, experience, personality and interests to share with aged care home residents who may be isolated or lonely. This may include chatting with someone over a coffee, sharing a board or card game or other interest, or even visiting with your well-trained pet. You will be matched with a resident or residents based on shared background or interests.

If you have the ability to communicate sensitively with elderly people and an hour a week to spare, I would love to hear from you.

The Community Visitor Scheme is a Federal Government initiative established to promote links between people living in an aged care facility and their local community. The aim of the scheme is to improve residents' quality of life for those who have limited family, cultural and social contact and may be at risk of social isolation.

Volunteers will be required to have a current Influenza and Covid 19 vaccination or be willing to get one. A mask and a negative Rapid Antigen Test is currently a requirement for entry to aged care facilities. RATs will be provided by the facility

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
