St Luke's Care is an iconic private health organisation that has delivered excellence in care for over 100 years. Our Hospital, Aged Care facility, Rehabilitation and Home Care service are all committed to providing the highest quality care.

VOLUNTEER – CONSUMER ADVISORY COMMITTEE • Eastern Suburbs, Sydney • Face-to-face or participate remotely • Approx. 2 hours, 3 times per year

Help us continue our vision to provide high quality personalised care for the wellbeing of our St Luke’s Care community – no specialist skills needed!

Our Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC) provides consumer advice, direction and advocacy for the planning and delivery of health services provided by St Luke’s Care. CAC members are required to attend three, one-hour meetings per year (either face-to-face or via teleconference). An hour or so of background reading prior to these meetings is usually required. Meetings are usually held in April, August, and early December.

What happens at the CAC meetings? The CAC is small (around 10 members or less) and very friendly! At the meetings you will be asked to review, discuss and provide your open, honest feedback on a range of services at St Luke’s Care, to ensure a consumer ‘voice’ is heard, such as: • Reviewing information provided to patients and consumers of our services • Providing advice on strategies to enhance and promote consumer, carer and community participation • Participation in service development • Assistance in developing and monitoring key performance indicators for service quality and accessibility. You will be supported in your role by the CAC Chairperson and our Executive Assistant, to access any relevant materials prior to the meeting, to move through the meeting agenda, and with any other queries that you may have in relation to the meetings. As part of our ‘on-boarding’ process, you will also need to complete some brief, online orientation training, including the importance of privacy and confidentiality.

Essential criteria: • Familiar with the mission and values of St Luke’s Care • Previous access to St Luke’s Care services, either as a patient/client or a visitor/family member; or likely to access St Luke’s Care services in the future • Good communication skills • Computer/email access

How to apply: Please email an expression of interest to Debra Palesy, Nurse Manager – Special Projects: dpalesy@slc.org.au, stating how you meet the criteria and your interest in the role. If you would like to find out more about St Luke's Care, visit our website at
