We’re looking for Volunteers who are creative thinkers and committed to supporting people live their best lives. Volunteers who can support older people with their goals around staying independent, healthy and connected to their community.
You may be interested in a connection with Elena*. She has been described as friendly, with a brilliant sense of humour. She is very family orientated, enjoying spending time with her children and many grandchildren. Elena also enjoys listening to Maltese music and watching tv shows like Judge Judy and Doctor Phil.
Connecting with *Elena may involve visiting him at home, having a chat over the phone, meeting up for a coffee and/or sharing a skill. It might involve checking out what’s on offer at a local neighbourhood centre, library or an activity of interest.
We offer opportunities in skill and knowledge development, as well as ongoing support and mentoring. As a Uniting Volunteer you’ll be able to access our online learning library with over 200 courses on offer. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently are a must. Having a driver’s licence/access to own vehicle is highly desired but not essential.We value diversity in lived experience, language, skills and abilities.
