Friends for older people
Uniting In Care SalisburyThe Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) is an Australian Government initiative that matches volunteers with older people who are at risk of loneliness or social isolation.
Who can become a Community Visitors Scheme Volunteer?
Anyone aged 18 – 100+ who is mature, empathic, kind, has good communication and listening skills and who is willing to provide friendship to a socially isolated aged care facility resident for as little as an hour a fortnight.
We have residents in the Salisbury, Playford & Tea Tree Gully council areas. We make every effort to match volunteers and residents that may share a common interest, hobby, language, cultural or life experience.
We offer training and on-going support throughout your volunteering experience.
Flu Vaccine and Police screening is necessary prior to beginning your CVS visits, please note that screening checks can take 3 – 4 weeks to process.
