As a volunteer Community Visitor you will visit at the Aged Care home in East Brisbane on a regular fortnightly basis to play Chess with one of the gentleman living there. There are many benefits to playing Chess - improved memory, deepens focus, elevates creativity - just to name a few.

Visits will include playing a game of Chess (most important!), chatting together and perhaps a short stroll in the sun on the grounds of the aged care home. Our resident's interests include music, particularly jazz!

Full induction training is provided by Community Visitors Scheme, Wynnum.

Volunteering as a Community Visitor can be a very rewarding experience. By becoming a friend to an older person, you can make a positive difference to their lives as well as your own.
