About This Role
At Oasis Youth Services we operate Oasis Shop, a social enterprise providing valuable vocational training and employment pathways for young people as well as support to our broader community to access low-cost food items.
Retail Assistants (all duties) have a wide-ranging role, supporting the Program Coordinator in ensuring quality customer service on the shop floor, carrying out transactions at point of sale, maintaining the general appearance of the store area and training and mentoring young people.

Time Commitments
5 hours each day
1 to 5 days per week during 9.00 am – 2:30 pm
Minimum 3-month commitment desired
Mandatory requirements of the Role
Willingness to undertake The Salvation Army’s Criminal History Record Check (at the organisation’s expense)
Willingness to obtain Working with Children Check
Willingness to engage in training provided for the role and organisational mandatory training
Development opportunities with this role ** ** This role will give volunteers an opportunity to develop skills and build experience in retail practices, point of sale systems, valuations of donations, sorting and stocking of shelves, as well as experience in working as a part of a team. Volunteers will receive on the job training and support, working alongside experienced retail professionals in a caring and supportive environment. As an extra bonus, volunteers have access to professional development training.
