The Street Team is a community that seeks to create a place of belonging for everyone. We seek to improve safety and the perception of safety in Launceston of a Saturday night, in partnership with relevant stakeholders.

This Role Will See You...

  • Identify, respond, and support vulnerable individuals.
  • Work collaboratively within a team to achieve best response outcomes for people requiring assistance.
  • Assist the Street Team – Team Leader and volunteers to call emergency services when required.
  • Provide First Aid, as appropriate and within recognized skillset.
  • Accurately record any incidents as directed by the Team Leader and Volunteer Coordinator.
  • Contact families and friends, and/or other support networks as required
  • Facilitate safe transport home.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements For The Role:

  • Experience in relevant field highly regarded.
  • First Aid certificate highly regarded.
  • Qualifications or current study in community services, social work, nursing or related field highly regarded .

Mandatory Requirements Of The Role:

  • Complete The Salvation Army's volunteer registration process.
  • Integrity Checks (Police Check & WWCC) will be required .
  • COVID19 vaccination certificate or medical exemption.
  • Complete TSA mandatory training and induction modules, and any other training as required.

Roster & Time Commitment:

  • Street Team volunteers sign up for Saturday night shifts in the Launceston City between 10.45pm and 3am. Volunteers are not required to attend a minimum number of shifts, however we recommend each volunteer sign up for 1 shift per month.
