At the heart of this mission is the role of the Social Enterprise Operations Assistant, a vital position that aids women from diverse cultural backgrounds in creating high-quality goods and services within Australia.
Position Purpose: To support the day-to-day operations of the social enterprise team.
Key Learning Outcomes: To understand the impact of skill development and employability for vulnerable women and the role of social enterprises in the community.
Roles and Responsibilities
Retail Shop:
- Advocate for SisterWorks and ethical purchasing
- Assist customers and process payments
- Manage online and wholesale orders
- Train and mentor Sisters
Entrepreneurship Program:
- Help Sisters with brand development
- Support Sister Entrepreneurs in creating collections
- Review product pricing and manage inventory
Production:
- Enhance Sisters' skills
- Oversee daily production
- Ensure product quality and cleanliness
- Share skills and good work ethic
Cafe:
- Support in increasing the employability of Sisters
- Ensuring quality of service
- Support daily cafe operations
Skills and Qualifications:
- Leadership experience is desirable.
- Experience with migrants or refugees is preferred.
- Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and pay attention to detail.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Retail experience is a plus.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Interest in supporting women through hands-on learning.
- Craft project or hospitality experience is beneficial.
Compulsory requirements:
- Working with Children Check.
- 10 hours a week (2 days/week), flexible hours.
