The Role

It may not be the most glamorous role at the shelter, but the Laundry Assistant Volunteer is important in helping us to keep the animals in our care warm, comfortable and happy.

We care for over 17,000 cats and dogs each year and we currently have around 200 animals at our Cranbourne shelter, and you can imagine how the laundry piles up! That's why your role is so important.

In this role you will sort, wash, dry, hang out and fold blankets, towels and toys ready for use the next day as well as sort through our daily donations. You'll also have a valuable role in providing our adoption cats with enrichment as they wait for their new forever homes.

This volunteer role is great for someone (18+ years) who wants to make a positive impact immediately.

Available shifts include:

Monday: 10am-2pm

Our minimum requirements for volunteering include:

• Available for one ongoing four-hour-shift per week,
• Ideally available for a minimum 3-month commitment.

Due to the popularity of our volunteer program, we cannot guarantee that all candidates will be offered a volunteering opportunity. If you miss out this time, we encourage you to apply again in future as more opportunities become available.
