Volunteer Ethics Facilitator

Constable Care Foundation

The Constable Care Ethical Leadership pilot program is seeking volunteers to facilitate weekly hour long discussion groups for Year 5 students in 12 schools during the 2022 school year. No teaching experience required!

The program is designed to allow children to consider ethical dilemmas that develop their critical and creative thinking, ethical reasoning and social skills, including empathy and respect for other's opinions. Research indicates significant benefit for children’s personal and social development from participation in continuous, in-depth ethics and critical thinking programs such as this.

Volunteers are needed who can commit about one hour once a week to facilitate a student discussion group at a primary school using the comprehensive learning resources developed by Primary Ethics, our non-profit partner who have been successfully delivering this program in NSW schools since 2010. Training for volunteers is provided online by Primary Ethics, and detailed lesson plans and support materials are provided for each group session you facilitate.

There are 12 public primary schools taking part in the Ethical Leadership pilot program, located in the Perth local government areas of Wanneroo, Swan, Gosnells, Armadale and Rockingham, and outside Perth in Byford, Bunbury and Margaret River. If you live near one of these areas and are available to volunteer at a local school each week, we'd love to hear from you!

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
