If you are someone who values the importance of regular exercise, would you consider sharing your skills with people living with dementia who are frail and elderly at our residential aged care home in Wahroonga? We're looking for volunteers who can help residents maintain their mobility and health by regular exercise, whether it's a group exercise activity or just going for a walk around the gardens or local area.

Ideally you’ll be available one morning or afternoon/week for 12 months or longer. In this time you would plan simple exercises for a group and play some familiar music from the 50s 60s and 70s in the background. We have a colourful parachute, balloons and bats which could add to the fun. Many of our residents also appreciate being taken for one to one walks to keep their muscles working and blood circulating. Many of our group activities and exercise opportunities have been lost during the lockdowns and we would love you to be a part of bringing them back.

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity, specialising in dementia care. We are passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need and we have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of our residents. As our volunteer you’ll receive training and on-going support. HammondCare Wahroonga is located at 3-9 Woonona Ave South, Wahroonga NSW, 2076.

When you submit your enquiry, please include details on why you're interested in volunteering. Successful applicants will complete a criminal record check. All HammondCare volunteers must complete mandatory online training, provide evidence of Covid19 vaccination.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
