Gardener/Disability Support Worker - Richmond - # 17674

North West Disability Services Inc

This is a dual role for someone interested in disability support and gardening. As a volunteer you will work and develop the skills of people with disabilities in a broad range of program areas. The programs run everyday. Volunteers will need to make a commitment to this role for the medium to long term.

It is also desirable that the volunteer can demonstrate through experience the ability to provide hands on support to the Garden Manager and the great band of volunteers supporting the garden and its vision.

The Secret Garden & Nursery is a NFP public garden and nursery set on five beautiful acres in Richmond. It is also a horticulture as therapy garden, offering a safe, supportive and educational environment where people with mental illness and disabilities can learn horticultural skills through the Food for Thought program. Gardening experience, patience and intermediate level of English required.

North West Disability Services is a COVID safe organisation and implements safe practices to ensure the health and safety of all who come into contact with NWDS including Volunteers.
