Darebin Information, Volunteer & Resource Service (DIVRS) is a volunteer powered community organisation that provides free services, programs and information for people who live, study and volunteer in Darebin. Our mission is to connect people to opportunity, community and support.

The Food Services team need volunteers to help support the Emergency Relief Program by sourcing, packing and distributing food to our community.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Warehouse: • Sorting fresh food from donations and our growing sites

• Picking and packing fresh food and pantry parcels

• Restocking our pantry and fresh food warehouse

• Provide quality control on stock.

• Daily set up and pack down of the food relief spaces.

• Accurately log hours (onsite through our online data collection program)

• Identify hazards and report them immediately to Food Services Coordinator

• Follow to DIVRS safety, health and environment policies and procedures.

Food distribution:

• Overseeing food distribution from 11am – 12:30pm. Also included is daily set-up and pack-down of space.

• Greet individuals accessing the food relief providing a warm welcoming environment.

We work as a team each day to make sure we get these tasks completed, usually with enough time to sit back and have a cuppa together mid-morning.
