The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) L2P Program is a community-based program developed to assist eligible young Victorian learner drivers between the ages of 16 and 21 years who do not have access to a supervising driver, or a vehicle to gain the driving experience required for a probationary license.

Volunteer Mentors are matched with a learner driver and together they work towards achieving 120 mandatory hours of driving practice.

Volunteer Mentors are an integral and highly valued part of the TAC L2P Program and we always welcome enquiries and applications. To be considered as Mentor you need to meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Be over 21 years of age
• Hold current full Australian driver's license
• Have satisfactory driver license history report
• Be medically fit to drive (can be discussed further through the application process)
• Not be currently working as a professional driving instructor

Additionally, as part of the application process, you will be asked to provide*:

• a valid (volunteer) Working with Children’s Check
• a satisfactory National Police Check
