WHO ARE WE?

The Sisterhood Empowerment Campaign Inc. is a women-led non-profit organisation based in Melbourne’s South East. We aim to unite, inspire and empower young women by providing services such as workshops and events that focuses on mental health and well-being. We've got so many ideas, programs and events to organise but not enough pair of hands. We're making a few changes and looking to expand our team. We're searching for talented and dedicated women who want to help us make a change and assist women in unleashing their full potential.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Are you handy with finances and want to support a non-profit with their investments for women empowerment? We want to host events, programs, activities and workshops but we also need to stay within the budget and invest accordingly.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the financial affairs of the organisation such as reviewing bank statements and managing cash flow
  • Ensure all transactions are recorded and payments are approved by authorised figures
  • Ensure organisation is spending and investing accordingly
  • Contribute to the finances of the annual report such as preparing the annual budget
  • Liaise with the Chairwoman and Grants Manager to develop budget, monitor and evaluate financial progress in association of funding
  • Advise the board on financial strategies
  • Report finances to the board members of the organisation on a monthly basis

Skills & Experience

  • Qualification or experience in Finance, Accounting or relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience as treasurer in a non-profit organization or relevant financial management position - highly desirable
  • Experience in funding, fundraising and financial reporting - highly desirable
  • Experience in banking, bookkeeping and record keeping - highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and accurate when computing and managing numbers
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial management software
  • Knowledge in financial legislation and practices

IMPORTANT BEFORE APPLYING:

  • This is a voluntary position
  • Each position has a minimum commitment level of 2-3 hours a week
  • We will use a project management tool to track KPI and keep all members up to date
  • Remote positions are available
  • On-site committee are required proof of double vaccinations
  • Attendance to monthly meetings are required (either on-site or online)
