We operate a commercial kitchen at the Darebin Arts & Entertainment Centre (20 minutes from the Melbourne CBD) providing thousands of meals each week for people in crisis. Our diverse team of 80+ fantastic volunteers comprises people from all walks of life.

The role can be undertaken remotely and you can make a huge difference with just a few hours of your time.

The Event Catering Manager will be liaising with sporting clubs and community organisations, etc. using the Centre for live performances, awards nights, etc. to ensure that their event catering needs are met. This involves:

• Taking a brief from the client
• Providing the client with a quote for food item (eg. Trays of sandwiches, quiches, etc.)
• Ordering the food items pre-prepared from external suppliers (in most cases)
• Communicating with suppliers and our kitchen team to co-ordinate delivery on the day of the event
• Liaison with the Darebin Arts Centre events team regarding setup and presentation of the food at the event
• Communicating with our finance team regarding supplier payment and client invoicing

As we are an incorporated not for profit organisation, all funds raised from this activity will be used to directly supply more meals to more people in need across the community, including homeless, disaffected youth and others in crisis.
