Adult Team Managers assist this all female organisation to be Australia’s leading organisation for girls and young women in leadership and personal development. They meet with the Youth Team Leaders usually on a quarterly basis for about 2-3 hours to check on the youth program and activities, the Leaders learning and qualifications and youth membership. Team Managers also meet with and coordinate the parent body (District Support Group). This can usually be done on a quarterly basis for about 2-3 hours via email or phone call to follow up.

Team Managers report to the Region Manager usually in a quarterly meeting as well as attending other Region events throughout the year. Paperwork and following up on tasks can take a few hours a week.

The role may involve coordinating hall maintenance and fielding youth enquiries. You may also like to attend youth events like camps, activity days or special ceremony nights. Volunteers will benefit from having excellent communication skills and a willingness to be part of a team. A variety of other volunteering opportunities are also available including roles such as District Support Group Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.

Girl Guides has a robust COVID Safety Plan which supports volunteer, youth and family health and safety. Rules and resources are provided for volunteers and are regularly updated to align with current state government requirements.

Training, uniform and resources provided for those willing to become a Unit Helper or Unit Leader. Cost of membership to the organisation $160 p.a. Volunteers require great personal and communication skills and enjoy working in a team environment.
