Uniting Social Support Program keeps people connected to the community to support them to live a happy and healthy life. The program assists people to keep doing the things they love.

Jacqui has been described as an easygoing, family oriented, bubbly and friendly person. In the past she loved tapestry, dress making, playing rummy and board games, hosting family and friends. She has recently taken up playing golf and loves walking and spending time with family. Jacqui is looking for a volunteer who can support her to reengage with the activities she used to love, especially tapestry work and sewing.

The successful volunteer will need to be kind and patient. A knowledge of dementia would be advantageous. You will also need access to a vehicle to transport Jacqui to community activities. Jacqui is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays and would prefer a mature female volunteer.

As a valued member of the Social Support Team, you will have access to ongoing training and development, opportunities to meet new people and develop new skills. You will have support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator throughout your volunteer journey. You will be volunteering to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice to make an impact in your community. Please note, visits will take place in line with Uniting and COVID safe guidelines. Participant's name has been altered to maintain her privacy. Interested? For further information, please contact 13 93 75 and quote JT-S-01.
