Braille Awareness Show Presenters

We are looking for fun people to present these 40 minute shows.

About you

No specific experience or braille reading skills required. You are willing to give new things a try. You may have experience being in a classroom setting (although not essential). You are someone who is fun, learns new things easily and wants to make a difference in your community. You have a driver’s licence and are available at various times Monday – Friday between 9am and 4pm. (Most shows are in the middle of the day) You may have experience with performance or theatre or maybe you just have an outgoing personality and interested to try. You will be required to hold a “Working with Children” card.

The position These volunteer positions are on an on-call basis, and (once you have learned the show) you will only be required when a show is booked. The shows run for 40 minutes and they are a mix of education and interactive elements, all designed to teach the audience more about braille and how people feel information.

All materials will be provided and you will just need to engage the audience (mostly children) to get involved.

You will be provided with scripts and show overviews, we will also run through the shows to ensure that you are comfortable with the content
