About Handball VIC Inc

Handball Victoria Inc. (Handball VIC) is the peak administrative body for the sports of Indoor (Olympic) Handball and Beach Handball in Victoria. Our primary functions are to promote and develop handball in Victoria, run junior and educational programs and administer indoor handball and beach handball leagues and competitions in the state.

Handball has been an Olympic sport since 1936, and has a significant presence in most other continents, and especially in Europe. Beach Handball, being a fairly young sport, hasn't yet got full Olympic status, but is quickly gaining momentum around the world.

At the moment, both sports are small, niche sports in Australia, but they have infinite potential to grow and become as loved and recognised as they are in the rest of the world. Both fast-paced, action-filled and dynamic spectator sports, they have all the ingredients that Australians love in sport.

About the Role & the Opportunity

As Secretary of Handball VIC, your main role will be to organise, prepare agendas for and take minutes of all of the Association’s meetings. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining member registries, and keeping order of all the Association’s documents, policies and procedures.

IIn terms of the opportunity, if you’re passionate about Sport Management you don’t want to miss this! Despite its Olympic status and significant presence in other parts of the world, Handball is still a small, niche sport in Australia. As Secretary of Handball VIC, you’ll be directly involved in ensuring the right foundations are set up for this wonderful sport to grow and flourish in Victoria, and help mark Australia on the international map of competitive Handball Nations. And that right in time for the Brisbane Olympics in 2032!
