The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Uniting (Vic & Tas).
During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to someone’s life, we would love to hear from you!
We are seeking the support of volunteers who have 1-2 hours per week or fortnight for a regular visit to a person who is isolated and managing a chronic health condition, and is needing some support with connecting to the community. Our consumers are diverse and we encourage people from different backgrounds, languages and life experiences to apply.
For success in this role you will be warm, caring, reliable, have a current drivers licence and access to a car. The types of activities you might do together include: supporting the consumer to reconnect with community activities or groups, walking, art and craft, or a chat over coffee in a café, gentle exercise or sport.
Interested? **Please note that during COVID-19 visits will take place in line with Uniting and government COVID safe guidelines.
