Internal Communications Officer

About the Role: As the Internal Communications Officer, you are responsible for the development, design and delivery of communication including social media content and digital communication to inform and engage volunteers and other stakeholders. You have to be highly organised, collaborative and outcome focused to ensure high quality output and outcomes. You will be reporting to the Director – People and Culture, this role sits within the People and Culture team.

Tasks and Responsibilities • Ensure organisational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to volunteers and stakeholders

• Plan, edit and write content for a variety of communications mediums, such as LinkedIn and a volunteer newsletter

• Plan and organize IC’s monthly townhall meeting with all volunteers

• Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different stakeholders of IC

• Respond to feedback from volunteers and adjust communications content accordingly

• Handle the internal communication response to crisis situations which affect organisational perception and reputation

Skills and Experience • Studying or having a qualification in Human Resources/ Marketing communications/ Digital marketing/ Journalism/ Public relations or relevant tertiary qualification • Excellent written and verbal and multi-media communication skills • Demonstrated experience and expertise in developing and delivering effective and successful internal communications and engagement strategies • Great time-management, organisation, and administration skills • Ability to work proactively and take responsibility
