Raise Youth Mentor - Moreton Bay Region

Raise Foundation
Logo for Raise Foundation

Raise Foundation improves the lives of young people in adolescence facing profound challenges through our Raise Mentoring Program. We offer one-on-one mentoring programs to help young people in high schools feel heard, valued and supported and we are currently recruiting for youth mentors in your local area.

Our programs deliver statistically significant improvements for our mentees in regards to goal achievement, resilience, help – seeking behaviours, relationships and hope for the future.

Mentors participating in our programs tell us that mentoring has helped them build their confidence, knowledge of and ability to relate to young people. In addition, mentoring has provided our mentors with personal growth and a sense of purpose and giving back.

Are you a good listener and able to act as a sounding board for ideas and aspirations? Your life experiences and genuine, compassionate interest in helping young people can positively impact the life of a young person in your local community.

Time Commitment Mentoring runs for 2 hours per week, during school hours, for the duration of 22 weeks from April through to November (excluding school holidays). Mentors are required to commit to attending at least 20 of the 22 weeks, April through to November, to ensure the best possible outcome for your mentee.

Training We offer free training to give you the skills you need to mentor a young person. Our training consists of 6 modules (approximately 3 hours) of online training and a virtual or face-to-face group mentor training session.

Requirements Aged 21 years or older (students studying in a relevant field may be 20 years old) Mentors are required to provide a valid Working with Children Check and a recent (less than 2 years old) Police Check. * *You can apply for these Mandatory Checks throughout your mentor training via the Raise Digital Village.

Thank you for your commitment to our young people - we look forward to hearing from you soon!
