Sydney Multicultural Community Services – CVS (Community Visitors Scheme) volunteering program is funded by the Department of Social Services (DSS) and supported by the Department of Health. The program serves culturally and linguistically diverse residents, who may be isolated by limited family support, language, and cultural barriers. We recruit, train and support volunteers to become Community Visitors, which visit eligible residents, either in an aged care facility or at their home.
Essential Criteria: • Respect the rights of the client including confidentiality, privacy and maintain dignity. • Exercise a duty of care at all times. • Communication skills (listening and speaking skills). • Emotional qualification skill, team work, reporting skill, community services skill and other skills which will be helpful in assisting the seniors and the elderly.
Requirements: • Third Covid-19 Vaccination and booster is MUST. • Complete a mandatory Police check. • Inductions and online training will be provided by Sydney MCS.
