The Fundraiser answers directly to the CEO
Duties and Responsibilities: • Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate fundraising activities and strategies, such as annual giving campaigns, direct mail programs, employer gift-matching, silent auctions, dances, golf events, walks, online auctions or donation web sites, to encourage new or increased contributions while minimising costs. • Write grant applications, fundraising reports/presentations, letters of thanks to donors; develop and maintain media contact lists and/or donor databases. • Recruit, direct and supervise participants, staff or volunteers for fundraising events. • Secure commitments of participation, donation, in-kind donation or sponsorship from individuals, corporate or government donors. • Monitor budgets, expense reports, or other financial data for fundraising activities. • Attend community events, meetings, or conferences to promote organisational goals or solicit donations or sponsorships. • Contact corporate representatives, government officials, or community leaders to increase awareness of organisational causes, activities, or needs. • Write speeches, press releases, or other promotional materials to increase awareness of the organisation’s causes, missions, or goals in seeking funds. • Conduct research to identify the goals, net worth, history of charitable donations, or other data related to potential donors, potential investors, or general donor markets. • Prepare, and coordinate transportation or delivery of, materials, supplies, or donations for fundraising events, such as fundraising envelopes, bid sheets, or gift bags. • Secure speakers for charitable events, community meetings, or conferences to increase awareness of charitable, non-profit, or political causes. • Arrange advertising for fundraising events and activities.
