Speech Pathologist
Get 2 KnowGet2Know is looking for a passionate Volunteer Speech Pathologist to join our diverse, inclusive and multi-disciplinary team in providing quality examinations and assessments while demonstrating the right amount of compassion, patience and empathy. The right candidate will love working with individuals and be willing to help our clients overcome the challenges of dealing with a speech disorder.
What You Will Do
- Diagnose, treat, and prevent language, speech, and swallowing disorders
- Creating personalised treatment and therapy plans for patients' individual requirements
- Performing screenings to detect voice or speech disorders
- Keeping detailed records of patient conditions, care plans, therapies and progress, as well as producing reports
- Educating patients and family members regarding speech disorders and their causes, including disabilities and traumatic events
Essential Criteria
- Degree in speech pathology
- Understanding of speech-related conditions
- Exceptional verbal and written skills
- Highly caring and attentive to individual patient needs
- Current NDIS Worker's Check and WWCC (or willing to obtain)
- Adept in report-writing and documentation
Desirable Criteria
- Current NSW Driver's License
- Some experience in speech pathology
- Certified membership with Speech Pathology Australia
- Excellent clinical and reasoning ability
