Key Characteristics

Our Backend Developers should have:

• Experience working with backend systems (e.g. Django, Flask, Express.js)
• A solid understanding of SQL data modelling
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• A genuine interest in not-for-profit work
• A professional manner and sound work ethic
• Strong ethics and reliability
• Proven excellence in communication, organisation and teamwork skills
• Problem solving & decision-making aptitude
• 8-10 hours/week to dedicate to RESN (flexible around uni commitments)

Key Tasks

Our Backend Developers are expected to:

• Create endpoints in Django REST Framework for our frontend applications
• Perform data modelling for complex SQL relations
• Manage background tasks including automated emails and notifications
• Maintain and update documentation so that current and future developers can easily work with our data
• Complete weekly tasks that are assigned by the Head of Technology to meet the expectations of the organisation
• Attend weekly team meetings and contribute to discussions
• Attend all RESN events where possible
