Karratha Airport is looking for volunteers, aged 16+ willing to participate in a one-off simulated emergency exercise on Saturday 4th September 2021 from 08.30 to 13.30. Volunteers may be selected to act as a distraught or injured passenger, distressed relatives, or in a supporting role. Volunteers as part of the role play may be wearing moulage to simulate injuries sustained in the crash scenario. The exercise benefits participating agencies including Airport Firefighters, WA Police, SES, St John’s Ambulance, Department of Communities and Airline representatives, who all train together to further develop the Airport’s emergency management capabilities.
Morning Tea will be served upon arrival, following the exercise, there will be a sausage sizzle and debriefing.
