Have you had a premature or sick baby? Do you want to help others through this difficult journey?

We are seeking Dads who have experienced having their baby in NICU or Special Care Units and who are willing to assist others through this journey. With a team of other volunteers you will provide encouragement, support, and a compassionate ear to other Dads through a facilitated Peer Support Facebook Group.

Families who are part of the Facebook Group are either currently in hospital with their baby, or have just arrived home and need someone to listen and help them along their journey. Our closed Facebook Group runs on Wednesday evenings 7:45pm - 10pm AEST. You will be responding to families via a live Facebook chat by typing responses to their comments and questions. It is best that you are child free in this time and are able to commit weekly (preferred) or fortnightly.

You will need to agree to undertake a National Police Check, and there will also be a requirement to complete training prior to your engagement.

To do this role you will need to have had a premature or sick baby of your own and be 12 months on from your experience. Preferably your baby is now between the age of 1-10 years old.
