Endometriosis Western Australia (EndometriosisWA) is seeking a committed and detail-oriented volunteer Secretary to join our Board. This is a governance leadership role suited to someone who values structure, accountability, and meaningful community impact.

Organisational Background EndometriosisWA is a Western Australian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting individuals living with endometriosis and pelvic pain, improving community awareness, and advocating for systemic change in healthcare and workplace policy. We deliver evidence-based education programs, peer support services, community events, and stakeholder engagement across WA. Our work spans patient advocacy, health professional education, rural outreach, and collaboration with state and national partners.

Key Duties The Secretary is a core governance officer of the Board and plays a central role in ensuring strong organisational compliance and communication. Responsibilities include: – Preparing and distributing Board meeting agendas in consultation with the President. – Recording accurate minutes and maintaining Board documentation. – Ensuring compliance with the Associations Incorporation Act (WA) and organisational constitution. – Maintaining the organisation’s records. – Coordinating annual governance requirements, including AGM documentation and regulatory submissions. – Supporting Board communication and documentation workflows.

Skills and Experience Required We are seeking a volunteer who demonstrates: – Strong organisational skills and attention to detail – Experience in minute-taking or governance administration – Clear written communication skills – An understanding of not-for-profit governance (or willingness to learn) – Reliability, discretion, and professionalism – Prior Board experience (desirable but not essential)

Legal, governance, administrative, or health sector experience would be highly regarded.

Impact of the Role The Secretary plays a critical role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and strategic continuity within the organisation. Strong governance underpins everything we do — from delivering community support programs to influencing health policy. By contributing your skills, you directly support improved access to information, care, and advocacy for people living with endometriosis across Western Australia.

This is a volunteer Board position requiring attendance at monthly meetings (held on the second Tuesday of the month from 7:15pm till 8:45pm) and periodic governance tasks between meetings.
