Volunteer West is advertising this position on behalf of Girl Guides Brimbank.

Girl Guides Brimbank are looking for Unit Leaders for the Keilor and Deer Park units to deliver a high-quality Guide Program. We’re looking for volunteers with sound planning and organisation skills, and great communication skills. If you have a commitment to young girls/young women and their development, love sharing skills knowledge and resources, and love working collaboratively with other to bring out the best in them then we’d love to hear from you!

Duties will include:

• Organising and running activities for girls in conjunction with other Leaders
• Administrative tasks such as filling in permission forms, notices, etc.
• Reporting and ensuring that accurate financial records are maintained.
• Offering help and support to other members of the Unit team.
• Building collaborative relationships with other Leader/Managers in the Unit/District/Region teams and attending Leaders Meetings.

Meetings are held on weekday evenings for the following Guide groups:

• 4th Keilor Girl Guides - Thursday 6.00 - 8.00 at Keilor Guide Hall

• Deer Park Jnr Girl Guides - Monday 6.00 - 8.00 at Deer Park Hall

• 1st Deer Park Girl Guides - Tuesday 7.00 - 9.00 at Deer Park Hall

Upon starting the role, Unit Leaders will be supported to complete a First Aid Course HLTA011 or higher and also to work through the Girl Guide Leadership Qualification Passport with the support of a mentor.

All costs associated with volunteering will be reimbursed (except for the first year of membership with Guides Victoria) All Volunteers will be provided with a Uniform.
