The Dreams Project at HammondCare Health is tailored to enhance patient dignity and respect, and complements the invaluable work of our dedicated HammondCare social workers caring for patients with life-limiting illnesses and at end-of-life.

More than a wish granting program, this highly specialised program reaches deep into the therapeutic needs of individuals facing a terminal illness. Previous Dreams include Weddings or vow renewal, birthdays, dinners, theatre, family weekends away, art & portraits, videos & photography, zoo trips, trips home & more

As a Dreams Project volunteer you may assist with

• Setting up a patient’s room for a family celebration
• Collecting items from a supplier and delivering to the location of the Dream
• Offsite activities for example: accompanying a Dreams recipient to the Zoo or the beach
• Providing music or dj
• Videography/ Photography
• Make up / Hair stylists / Nail Artists

The timing and commitment required of a volunteer will vary depending on the Dreams created, and we're happy to talk with you about this is more detail. The Dream may be at Braeside Hospital in Prairiewood, or at another location across Sydney.

Successful applicants must be aged 18 years or older and will be required to complete a national police check which HammondCare will organise and pay for. We will also discuss the mandatory immunization requirements, including flu vaccination, HEP B and others. You’ll receive extensive training and the ongoing support of a Volunteer Coordinator and Dreams Project Manager.
