Multiple Birth Support Volunteer - Horsham Rural City
Centre for ParticipationDo you want to put on your "Mary Poppins" or "Fantastic Grandparent" hat on? You could be an amazing support to a family who has had more than one baby - a multiple birth (it could be twins, triplets or more!!). The family may have older children or toddlers and so, you would be helping in very practical ways to benefit the entire family, ensuring they can transition into functional independence through this challenging period of time.
MBS Volunteers will be matched to a family. You will visit in the family's home, and so must be the absolute soul of confidentiality and discretion. You will do baby-related tasks - and perhaps some light household duties - as requested by the family.
You will have an updated Police Check and an active Working with Children Check (Victoria) and you will be fully trained and supported by the MBSV team. Volunteers will be required to be vaccinated for the relevant diseases (i.e. Measles and Whooping Cough in particular).
This role is ideal for individuals who want to build a relationship with the people they serve. It will be a rewarding and beneficial match for individuals who want to be quiet achievers, behind-the-scenes, helping families to become strong and resilient members of the community. Volunteers in this role will be kind, compassionate, confidential, practical with patience and wisdom as they practice excellent communication skills and warm empathy.
Current or former specialists in the childcare, teaching or health industries, are welcome to explore this as a possible volunteering opportunity.
