Cycling Without Age - Perth - volunteer Trishaw pilots/cyclists

Cycling Without Age Australia

The interaction of passengers, pilots and the community promotes inclusivity, reduces social isolation and makes everyone feel valued. Nothing beats the smiles (passengers & volunteers) coming back from a ride with the wind in their hair, rosy cheeks and full of shared stories.

  • Pilots (cyclists) ride (maximum 10km/hr) trishaw e-bikes on pre-approved routes on shared paths (no roads) around Perth and surrounding suburbs. You need to be able to ride a bike and be comfortable communicating with the elderly and people with disability.

  • Assistants (non-riders) meet & greet our passengers, complete passenger screeners, sanitise the trishaws between rides and demonstrate to our passengers how to safely board the trishaw.

The joy that comes from volunteering with Cycling Without Age (CWA) is seeing the smiles on the faces of our passengers and hearing them share their stories. Seeing our passengers enjoy the feel the wind in their hair, from the comfort of our conversational couch on wheels at scenic locations around Perth brings a smile to all our faces: volunteers, passengers and carers.

We need more volunteers to cover the rides now in the suburbs north of Perth, so if you live north of the river please consider joining us.
