Harold Hawthorne Community Centre is a not for profit organisation based in Carlisle. Our vibrant Centre runs community activities, provides care to people living in their own homes, independent living retirement village and social housing units. We are dedicated to assisting seniors and people with disabilities to continue to live independently and with dignity within their community.

We are seeking a friendly person to join our maintenance and gardening team at Harold Hawthorne Community Centre. This is an excellent opportunity to gain new skills and interact with a diverse group of people. Duties may include:

• minor painting of retirement village units
• maintenance tasks, including buildings and small units
• assisting with general gardening, including pruning, mulching, hedging and weeding

The hours are flexible, and are typically between 8.00am to 2.30pm on week days. You will receive an orientation and training to ensure you are familiar with your role. No prior experience is necessary.

• A caring and compassionate personality with a commitment to enhancing clients’ independence, dignity and comfort.
• The ability to work as a member of a team and autonomously under general supervision.
