Volunteer Support Service Officer - Referral Team
Volunteer WestThe Volunteer Support Service Officer is part of the Volunteer Support Services (VSS) team that operates the Volunteer West referral service. You will be the first point of contact for individuals who wish to become volunteers. Working from home, you will conduct phone interviews with people who want to volunteer. You will find volunteering roles that meet their skills, interests and experience, and refer them to the appropriate organisation(s).
Your tasks will include:
Being the first point of contact for individuals (clients) wanting to become volunteers
Interviewing clients over the phone
Data entry and sending out emails to clients
Matching individuals to relevant community organisations by linking volunteers to community organisations and not-for-profit organisations.
Other duties as required
The Volunteer Support Service Officer is expected to demonstrate:
Good English verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of a language other than English is HIGHLY desired
A willingness and ability to relate to people from a variety of diverse backgrounds
A polite telephone manner
Sound computer skills, including Excel, Outlook, and MS Office & Teams (Training can be provided)
Attention to detail
Punctuality, reliability and honesty
A passion for helping the community and promoting volunteering
Location and time: Wednesdays at our office in Maidstone
Time commitment: 6 months or more
