Family Support Group Peer Facilitator/Co-Facilitator

Self Help Addiction Resource Centre

We are currently looking for people interested in volunteering as a Peer Facilitator/Co-Facilitator or Expert Speaker for one of our many Family Support Groups. Peer Facilitators/Co-Facilitators and Peer Workers are people who are able to use their lived experience to inform and support others impacted by someone’s drug & alcohol use, and gambling. The SHARC Peer Worker Model delivers a range of activities to achieve a quality, consistent and sustainable volunteer peer workforce. You will be provided with training, supervision and peer mentoring to support you in your role. You will also have the chance to connect with a vibrant, caring and nurturing group of volunteers and staff alike. As a speaker you will use your expert knowledge and experience to deliver a variety of educational sessions on topics that support families and friends in their own Self-Care and understanding of what they are experiencing.
