Work with a team to meet the organisation's needs through the recruitment, rostering, skilling and retention of volunteers.

Build or use your knowledge to help the BTL in its mission to make the tools & knowledge for DIY & repair accessible, affordable & sustainable.

You can work:

  • On specific tasks that match your abilities & interests
  • Remotely, or in person
  • Approximately 5 hours/week with flexible timing to suite your needs

Collaborate on some of the following:

  • Generating volunteer opportunities and role descriptions
  • Researching and writing volunteer policies and procedures
  • Recruiting volunteers and assigning them to roles that match their interests and skill sets
  • Partaking in public outreach activities
  • Nominating volunteers for awards and, with the help of the board, organising “thank you” events
  • Offering advice and information to volunteers and external organisations through outreach activities via face-to-face, telephone and email contact
  • With assistance from the board, organising volunteer recruitment events
  • Monitoring and evaluating volunteer activities
  • Maintaining volunteer database

Role requirements:

  • Computer skills, or willingness to learn.
  • Good interpersonal communication, including listening skills.
  • The ability to relate to and instruct volunteers.

Software we are using now: Slack. Sling. Myturn. Google suite (e.g. forms, spreadsheets, docs and contacts).

Minimum commitment 6 months.
