Help connect the Melbourne community with their Yarra River and its surrounding creeks and parks! The Yarra Riverkeepers are looking for people that share our passion for protecting Melbourne’s river of mists and shadows. If you’re interested in environmental sustainability and raising awareness of the importance of the Yarra, we want to hear from you!

The Yarra Riverkeeper Association works towards a Yarra river and catchment that is healthy, protected and loved. We do this through advocacy, community engagement, education and research.

This volunteer opportunity will help us coordinate our first crowdfunding campaign. This project will work towards our regeneration works that aim to reconnect your Yarra to a healthy, habitat corridor that can be enjoyed by all living things that call the catchment home. We are looking for creative thinkers who are able to leverage new and existing partnerships to create a positive social and environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Assistance in the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns
• Plan, create and schedule fundraising social media posts
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to generate support
• Support the communications volunteer team
• Identify potential areas of interest for fundraising action
• Report on the success of the fundraising campaign

Desirable qualifications and skills

• A background in business and/or marketing is desirable
• Experience volunteering for not for profits
• Teamwork
• A passion for environmental sustainability
• A proactive approach to building new partnerships and expanding our network
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Experience using Microsoft Suite
