As a CHASE Mentor or Team Leader, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Deliver interactive health education workshops to VCAL students in Melbourne’s Northern and Western suburbs

  • Inspire and guide students to collaborate with a community organisation and develop their own projects relating to improving health outcomes in their community

  • Build relationships and act as a role model for the VCAL students

  • Participate in professional and personal development workshops during our Mentor Training Nights (e.g. Teach For Australia workshops, one-on-one CV advice from consultants in the industry, LinkedIn photos)

In addition to the fulfilling role as a Mentor, we also offer Team Leader roles at CHASE. As a Team Leader you will not only be responsible for the tasks of a mentor, but you will also be:

  • Fostering a highly motivated and committed CHASE mentoring team

  • Serving as the key contact between the Mentor Managers and your CHASE team

  • Ensuring that CHASE program expectations and responsibilities are followed by your team

What is the time commitment?

  • Runs approximately from early April to late October

  • Monthly commitment is 6-8 hours comprising of 1-2 hour school workshops once a fortnight and 90-minute training workshops once a fortnight
