The main duties of the Honorary Treasurer include financial administration of the club, review procedures and financial reporting, take lead and advice the council (Management Committee) on strategies for fund raising and financial management. The Treasurer will review reconciliations uploaded into Xero by the bookkeeper, prepare and present monthly reports to the council, attend monthly council meetings, prepare annual financial statements for the Annual General Meeting, prepare annual financial report for the auditors. In addition, the Treasurer will be responsible for banking transactions, reporting and preparation of financial reports to government agencies. It is expected that the work will be less than 4 hours each month, but certain tasks might take more time such as reporting to auditors. Familiarity with not-for-profit organisations and Gift deductibility status will be highly desirable.
