KCSG are offering an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work alongside a passionate team to help support a worthy cause. KCSG provide a variety of ongoing support services to children and families affected by a childhood cancer diagnosis. We are an NGO approved charity who work directly to support the children and families at PCH as well as within the wider community.

We are looking at expanding our support services and have a position in our team for an experienced Volunteer Co-ordinator who is able to offer up to 10 hours of their time per week.

The role will incorporate:

• Developing and maintaining databases
• Recruitment, training, support and retention of volunteers
• Development and implementation of policies and procedures
• Effectively communicating with a team of committee members
• Responding to volunteer queries and managing applications
• Assessing suitability for specific roles
• Ensuring all volunteers are and remain compliant with PCH requirements needed to meet our ongoing obligations
• Work with a team to understand what skill sets are required to support specific programs and create suitable position descriptions and volunteer positions
• Identify appropriate attributes of potential volunteers in line with the sensitivities of the organisations needs
• Manage the volunteer national police checks program

Skills and Experience

• Ability to work compassionately within a sensitive and vulnerable community
• Work ethically and confidentially in all aspects of the role
• Tertiary qualifications in human resources or similar field
• Experience in human resource management
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal includinga professional and courteous manner
• Strong organisational skills, time management, prioritisation and attention to detail
• Experience with system developments and process improvements
