The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this position on behalf of Uniting (Victoria & Tasmania).

During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever, to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. Personable and patient applicant sought to assist in the facilitation of a social support lunch group that meets on a monthly basis at the Mulgrave Country Club, Wheelers Hill. The group provides a recreational and social outlet for participants.

The role will require you to draw on your group facilitation skills while supporting people to build valuable connections and enjoy group activities as part of their social goals. The selected applicant will have effective communication skills and demonstrate confidence to facilitate and support group discussion and participation.

Be prepared to use your own vehicle to provide transport assistance to clients with reduced mobility, who may require the use of a four-wheel walker or stick. You'll need respect for diversity and support a positive interaction between participants in the group. Current Victorian driver’s licence and road worthy vehicle essential.

Interested?.We are preparing to recommence our social support groups. Please be aware that running of the group will be subject to government and Uniting COVID safe directives. The selected volunteer will be provided with induction, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development.
